Saudi, Pakistani Foreign Ministers Chair Special Investment Facilitation Council Meeting

Islamabad: Saudi Minister of Foreign Affairs Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan Ishaq Dar have chaired here the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) formed by the two countries.

A high-level delegation from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia attended the meeting. It consisted of Minister of Environment, Water, and Agriculture Abdulrahman Al-Fadley, Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources Bandar Al-Khorayef, Advisor to the Royal Court Mohammad Al-Tuwaijri, Assistant Minister of Investment Ibrahim Al-Mubarak, as well as a number of senior officials from the ministries of foreign affairs and energy, Public Investment Fund, and the Saudi Fund for Development.

Prince Faisal praised the deep-rooted Saudi-Pakistani relations, stressing that the Saudi delegation’s visit complements the meeting held by His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and Prime Minister of the Islam
ic Republic of Pakistan Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif in Makkah, and helps boost opportunities to invest in various fields and support investors in the two brotherly countries.

At this latest meeting, the two sides assessed ways to boost economic cooperation and trade, to meet the aspirations of the leaderships of the two countries.

Jordanian King Receives Shura Council Speaker

Amman, King Abdullah II ibn Al Hussein of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan received today the Speaker of the Shura Council, Sheikh Dr. Abdullah bin Mohammed Al-Alsheikh.

The meeting, attended by Crown Prince of Jordan Hussein bin Abdullah II, went over the historic relations between the leaderships and people of the two countries and ways to enhance them in all fields, especially in the parliamentary field, as well as the importance of maintaining coordination on issues of common concern.

The meeting was attended by Senate President Faisal Al-Fayez, Lower House Speaker Ahmad Al-Safadi, the Saudi Ambassador to Jordan, Nayef bin Bandar Al-Sudairi, and Jordan King’s Office Director Jaafar Hassan.

OIC Secretary General Offers Condolences to Oman over Flood Victims

Jeddah: Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Hissein Taha has offered his condolences to the Sultanate of Oman for the tragic loss of life and injuries sustained by dozens of citizens due to the devastating floods that struck the state of Al-Mudhaibi.

Taha offered his sympathy to the families of the victims, and wished speedy recovery to the injured.

He also emphasized OIC’s solidarity with the government and people of Oman.

Explosion and pouring of concrete in the apartment of the martyr Khaled Al-Muhtasib in Beit Hanina

Jerusalem – Ma’an – On Tuesday afternoon, the occupation authorities blew up the apartment of the family of the Jerusalemite martyr Khaled Al-Muhtaseb in Beit Hanina, north of Jerusalem.

This morning, the occupation forces in large numbers, accompanied by engineering teams and special crews, stormed a residential building containing the apartment of the martyr Al-Maqdisi Al-Muhtasib, and forced the residents, all families, to evacuate and demanded that they keep their homes open.

For more than 7 hours, the occupation authorities poured concrete inside the apartment, and during that time, explosives experts planted explosives inside the apartment, then detonated it.

The martyr Al-Muhtaseb died last October, after carrying out a shooting attack towards the Salah al-Din police station in Jerusalem, and the forces continue to detain his body.

JHCO Sends Aid Convoy to Gaza in Collaborative Effort


The Jordan Hashemite Charity Organization (JHCO) has dispatched a new food aid convoy to Gaza in collaboration with the Jordan Armed Forces – Arab Army, alongside Human Appeal UK, Qatar Red Crescent Society, Helping Hand for Relief and Development-MENA, and Rahma Worldwide.

According to a statement released by JHCO on Tuesday, the convoy comprised 75 trucks loaded with food parcels. These trucks crossed the King Hussein Bridge en route to the Kerem Shalom border crossing, where the aid will be distributed to the people of Gaza through partner associations and organizations within the Strip.

Hussein Shibli, Secretary-General of JHCO, emphasized the critical importance of addressing the food shortage in Gaza. He stated that JHCO is committed to continuing its efforts to provide food aid to the region and aims to increase the volume of aid as quickly as possible.

Since the conclusion of Ramadan and the start of Eid al-Fitr, approximately 280 trucks of basic foodstuffs have been sent to Gaza. The total number
of trucks sent via the land bridge now stands at 962.

Earthquake of magnitude 6.2 strikes Papua New Guinea


NEW BRITAIN: An earthquake of 6.2 magnitude struck the New Britain Region in Papua New Guinea on Monday, the German Research Centre for Geosciences (GFZ) said.

The earthquake was at a depth of 79 km (49.1 miles), GFZ added.

There were no immediate local reports of damage.
