Chinese President Expresses China’s Eagerness to Enhance Cooperation with France

Chinese President Xi Jinping arrived today in France on a state visit to hold a series of meetings with French President Emmanuel Macron on the 60th anniversary of bilateral ties.

Upon his arrival in Paris, President Xi said, “I hope this visit will help cement our long-standing friendship, enhance political trust, build strategic consensus and deepen exchanges and cooperation in various fields.” He added that the development of Sino-French relations did not just benefit both peoples, but it also promoted stability and positive energy in an ever-turbulent world.

The Chinese president said that over the past 60 years, Chinese-French relations continued to be at the forefront of China’s relations with major western countries, something that sets a good example to the international community to emulate on the peaceful coexistence and the pursue of mutually beneficial cooperation between countries with different social systems.
