Dubai Charity showcases its projects, smart services at DIHAD 2024

DUBAI: Dubai Charity is showcasing its humanitarian, relief projects, and smart services during its participation in the 20th edition of the Dubai International Humanitarian Aid and Development Conference and Exhibition (DIHAD 2024), held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, during the period from 23rd to 25th April, at the Sheikh Rashid Hall in the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre.

Since the early hours of the opening of the “DIHAD 2024” exhibition and conference, where Dubai Charity participates as the golden sponsor, the Dubai Charity booth has witnessed the reception of numerous guests and visitors including officials, businessmen, media delegations, and employees of local and international charitable organizations and institutions.

The organisers of the booth showcased, through films and explanations, the innovative smart achievements of the charity and its platform on the Metaverse, along with
some relief and sustainable development projects and initiatives carried out by the charity within and outside the UAE.

Ahmed Al Suwaidi, Executive Director of Dubai Charity, said, ‘The charity’s participation in the exhibition comes under the slogan (Innovation and Sustainability in Charity Work), within the framework of our commitment to the strategic directions of the UAE aimed at transforming the concept of innovation into a sustainable work style and institutional culture, and contributing to enhancing the country’s leading position on the global map in the humanitarian and relief field. The UAE will continue to be at the forefront of supporting humanitarian and charitable activities through innovative work and ideas.’

The Executive Director of Dubai Charity explained that the organisation has developed its programs and tools to align with the directives of our wise leadership in finding smart solutions for services. The charity has launched a comprehensive package of innovative digital services on its
website, such as donating cryptocurrencies, acquiring non-fungible tokens (NFTs), providing a digital platform for donations using Metaverse technology, in addition to launching the Dubai Charity smart application.

Al Suwaidi added, ‘Dubai Charity has innovated smart donation kiosks and launched it in October 2022. It has been designed in a modern way to align with the smart transformation journey in society, providing the option to donate through Google Pay, Apple Pay, Samsung Pay, Dubai Smart Government Portal, SMS, and cryptocurrencies. We have a plan to distribute it instead of traditional donation boxes found in commercial centres, government, and private institutions. It is more secure, convenient, and faster for donations, keeping up with technological advancements and enhancing the digital transformation journey in the UAE.’

Ahmed Al Suwaidi mentioned that by the end of 2022 and the beginning of 2023, the charity received a total of 5734 donations through its smart donation kiosks via Google Pay, Ap
ple Pay, Samsung Pay, and cryptocurrencies. Additionally, there were 2281 donations made through smart links, while the charity received 7509 donations through its website and smart application.

Dubai Charity will host a workshop titled “Innovation Foundations” in its dedicated booth at Sheikh Rashid Hall, Platform H01. The workshop will be presented by the strategic expert at the charity, Dr. Mohammed Saeed, on Thursday, 25th April, from 15:23 to 16:24.
