Tripoli: The Prime Minister of the National Unity Government, Abdul Hamid Al-Dabaiba, directed the Brega Company to increase the quantities received from the Sabha oil depot, and to establish a distribution mechanism that ensures its arrival to all municipalities, until this thorny issue is radically addressed.

This came during his meeting today in Tripoli with the mayors of the municipalities of ‘Sebha – Al-Jufra – Al-Qatrun – Ubari – Al-Shuwairf – Barak – Ghat – Tahala – Murzuq – Al-Owainat – Bint Bayyah – Burqan – Tigrahi – Al-Sharqiya – Zillah – Zuwailah – Adri Al-Shati – Wadi Ataba,’ according to What our government platform published on its Facebook account.

He also stressed during the meeting he held with the mayors of the southern municipalities the necessity of developing radical solutions to the fuel issue and guaranteeing the rights of citizens, especially in the southern regions.

For his part, Minister of Local Government Badr al-Din al-Toumi, who attended the meeting, affirmed the efforts of t
he National Unity Government in supporting local administration and transferring competencies, expressing his thanks to the Prime Minister for his periodic follow-up of the conditions of municipalities and identifying their problems through his meetings with them.

During the meeting, the Mayor of Sebha Municipality, ‘Belhaj Ali Belhaj,’ presented the most important problems and difficulties facing the municipalities of the south, the most important of which is the increase in fuel quantities and clarification of the distribution mechanism from the Sebha warehouse to the municipalities for the possibility of following them up, in addition to the delay in implementing a number of roads approved in the development plan, in addition to the releases file, financing a number of sectors in the Municipality of the South, the necessity of fulfilling them from the sustainable development programs of the National Oil Corporation, and the necessity of paying attention to the implementation of the Sebha sewage station in
view of the conditions it is suffering from.

Al-Dabaiba instructed the Minister of Local Government to hold technical meetings between municipalities and executive agencies, to follow up on the progress of work on ongoing projects and targeted projects during the current year.

The meeting was attended by the Ministers of Local Government, Labor and Finance, the Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs, the Chief of General Staff, the Undersecretaries of the Ministries of Oil and Gas, and Sports, the Director of the Distribution Department of the Brega Company, the directors of the agencies implementing transportation, housing and facilities projects, and the Director of Projects Management of the Administrative Centers Development Authority.
