Ministry of Islamic Affairs Concludes Quran Competition in Nepal


Kathmandu, The Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance, represented by the religious attaché office at the Saudi embassy in New Delhi, held a ceremony to award top winners of the Quran competition recently held in Nepal.

The event was organized under the supervision of the Saudi embassy in the Nepalese capital of Kathmandu, in coordination with the Muslim Commission of Nepal, marking the first of its kind in the country.

The competition commenced in January and lasted for a month, enabling individuals and Islamic centers, associations, and schools in Nepal to participate.

More than 650 contestants competed in four categories at the competition, which produced 18 male and female winners.

Saudi Ambassador to Nepal Saad Nasser Abu Haimed, and the religious attaché at the Saudi embassy in India Sheikh Badr bin Nasser Al-Anazi, attended the ceremony.

Heads of Islamic associations and centers, diplomatic mission members, Nepalese parliament members, and several prominent Islamic figures were also prese
nt.

Participants expressed their gratitude and appreciation to the Saudi government. They commended the Ministry of Islamic Affairs’ efforts in promoting the message of moderation, serving Islam and Muslims, and spreading the values of tolerance and dialogue among people with different civilizations and religions.
