PM briefed on conditions of water sector, its workers

Prime Minister Dr. Abdulaziz Saleh bin Habtoor was briefed on Tuesday on the conditions of the water and environment sector and its workers, as well as the challenges facing this important service sector.

This came during his meeting with the Minister of Water and Environment, Eng. Abduraqeeb Al Shurmani.

At the meeting, the Minister of Water presented an explanation to the Prime Miniser on the ministry’s programs to expand its service activities in the fields of water and sanitation and activate its role in preserving the environment in the capital, Sana’a, and provinces.

The Prime Minister praised the Ministry’s efforts to use alternative and clean energy and reduce dependence on fossil fuels in water and sanitation projects.

The meeting touched upon the issue of managing organic and solid wastes and benefiting from them, similar to many countries that have successful experiences in this field.
