SHARJAH: Sharjah Foundation to Support Pioneering Entrepreneurs (RUWAD), affiliated with the Sharjah Economic Development Department (SEDD), held a ceremony to honour the second cohort of graduates from the Entrepreneurial Guidance Programme for Sharjah Government Employees (Entrepreneurship Ambassadors).
The programme, now in its second year, included 12 employees from six government entities: Economic SEDD, Sharjah Police General Headquarters, Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Sharjah Private Education Authority, Sharjah Government Media Bureau (SGMB), and RUWAD.
Hamad Ali Abdullah Al Mahmoud, Chairman of SEDD, said, “RUWAD Foundation is keen on providing high-quality and specialised training programmes, with the ‘Entrepreneurship Ambassadors’ programme being part of this ambitious plan.”
Al Mahmoud expressed gratitude to the participating government entities for their cooperation, emphasising the importance of collaborative efforts in enhancing institutional support for entrepreneurial endeavour
s and fostering a conducive business environment. He also commended the graduates for completing the programme requirements.
Fatima Al Ali, Acting Director of RUWAD, elaborated on the structure of the ‘Entrepreneurship Ambassadors’ initiative, which comprises a series of vocational and training seminars modelled on the curriculum of the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). Participants in the programmes, which last eight intensive working days, receive an accredited diploma from the school’s LSE Generate Centre for Entrepreneurship, enabling them to offer entrepreneurial coaching within their workplaces.
Upon completing the curriculum, participants undertake a graduation project aligned with RUWAD Foundation’s services, including feasibility studies, idea evaluations, and funding requests.
The programme’s modules cover various topics such as “Readiness for Guidance,” “Effective Guidance Journey,” “Building Trustworthy Guidance Relationships,” “Realistic Mindset and Entrepreneurial Experi
ences,” “Entrepreneurial Project Forms and Institutional Personalities,” “Sound Planning Tools,” and “Design Thinking for Understanding the Customer.”
In conclusion, Abdullah Ali Mahmoud, Director of Support Services at SEDD, recognised the contribution of participating government agencies and awarded certificates to the graduates.
