Saudi Arabia to Chair ALECSO Executive Council Meeting in Jeddah on May 14-15

Riyadh: The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is scheduled to chair the Executive Council meeting of the Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (ALECSO), which will be hosted by the Saudi National Commission for Education, Culture and Science in Jeddah on May 14 and 15. The meeting, which will see the participation of Executive Council members and representatives from 22 Arab countries, will discuss several topics serving ALECSO’s goals in the Arab world, developing the organization’s work in the region, and advancing the achieved quality accomplishments in the Arab collective work in the organization’s fields.

Secretary-General of the Saudi National Commission for Education, Culture and Science Ahmed bin Abdulaziz Al-Bulahid said that hosting the Executive Council meeting and the General Conference of ALECSO on May 17 in Jeddah stresses the status of the organization in the Kingdom and the attention and keenness received from the Kingdom’s leadership to activate cooperation in line with the rol
es of member states and contribute to achieving the organization’s objectives.

Al-Bulahid stressed that the commission, under the support of its Chairman and Minister of Culture, Prince Bader bin Abdullah bin Farhan, seeks to ensure the success of hosting these events and enhance the Kingdom’s role in ALECSO. This cooperation includes ensuring active participation of Saudi content in the organization’s work at the local and pan-Arab levels as part of its ongoing efforts to develop educational, cultural, and scientific fields with regional and international organizations, including ALECSO, ISESCO, UNESCO, and other relevant non-profit organizations and institutions.

The relationship between the Kingdom and ALECSO extends back 54 years to the organization’s establishment and has recently witnessed significant development through the implementation of various activities related to the organization’s work.

ALECSO operates within the framework of the Arab League and with national committees in all Arab countrie
s, serving their communities at local and regional levels. The organization also aims to achieve collaborative and integrated action in education, culture, and science by providing quality initiatives and valuable partnerships with various sectors and relevant entities to develop cultural standards across the Arab world.
