Ismahan Baloun, in a statement to (LANA): The UN mission is adopting a new approach.

Member of Parliament, Ismahan Baloun, considered that the United Nations Mission in Libya, led by “Abdullah Batili”, is adopting a new approach.

Baloun said in a statement to the Libyan News Agency that the international community, led by the United States of America, will not agree to change the government of national unity headed by Abdul Hamid al-Dabaiba, which was chosen under the auspices of the United Nations in Geneva before the election laws were issued.

Baloun explained that any procedures for choosing a new government will not be the same as before, pointing out that the new procedures for choosing a new government have reached a dead end.

She indicated that if the House of Representatives and the state insisted on choosing a new government, its fate would be similar to that of the government headed by Fathi Bashagha.

She stressed that the new government will not be able to enter the capital, Tripoli, and will rule from the east of the country without international legitimacy, saying, “This is what we do not want.”

And “Baloun” ruled out that the House of Representatives and the state would form a new government without regard to the approval of the superpower, out of concern for international legitimacy and a guarantee of not returning to square one, she said.

Gulf Health Council Launches Awareness Guide about Antimicrobial Resistance

The Gulf Health Council (GHC) launched an awareness guide that addresses antimicrobial resistance, which is one of the most important health issues threatening public health. The publication aims to raise awareness of how to properly handle antimicrobials to reduce the spread of antimicrobial resistance.

This launch reflects the commitment of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries to enhancing health and tackling global challenges related to antimicrobial resistance.

The guide includes a detailed explanation of the concept of “One Health” and how it affects individual health. This concept focuses on achieving a balance between the health of humans, animals, plants, and their shared environment, as their health is closely interconnected.

It also explains what antimicrobials are and how they work against infections, as well as the problem of “antimicrobial resistance” that occurs when microbes, including bacteria, become resistant to the effects of antibiotics due to their growth and proliferation. As a result, the effectiveness of antibiotics in treating infections decreases.

The guide also encourages the wise use of these medicines by highlighting the most notable diseases and conditions that do not require antibiotics, such as viral infections like colds or flu.

Prevention of antibiotic resistance is possible and the guide mentions essential tips and guidelines on how to limit the spread of diseases, including proper handwashing, getting recommended vaccinations, and the appropriate use of antibiotics only when prescribed by a specialist.

GHC aims to increase awareness of the risks of antimicrobial resistance and motivate citizens to adopt a healthy lifestyle that contributes to minimizing this global health problem.
