President of UAE receives written message from King of Bahrain


ABU DHABI: President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan has received a written message from His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, King of Bahrain, on further strengthening the privileged relations between the two fraternal countries.

The message was handed over to His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the Presidential Court, during his meeting today at Qasr Al Watan here with the Ambassador of Bahrain to the UAE, Sheikh Khaled bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, who conveyed the regards of the King of Bahrain to President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed and his wishes for more progress and prosperity for the UAE leadership and people. H.H. Sheikh Mansour reciprocated the greetings.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed aspects of bilateral relations and ways to advance cooperation at various levels, particularly in areas of economy, investment and development.

Emirates Arabian Horse Global Cup 2024 reaches Scottsdale USA


ABU DHABI: Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister, Chairman of the Presidential Court, and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Emirates Arabian Horse Society (EAHS), the 3rd round of the Emirates Arabian Horse Global Cup is set to take place in Scottsdale, Arizona between 28-30 March in conjunction with the 2024 Arabian Breeders World Cup, one of the most prestigious Arabian Horse Show events in the world since its inception in 1955.

The Emirates Arabian Horse Global Cup was launched September last year under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and close follow-up of Sheikh Zayed bin Hamad Al Nahyan, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of the EAHS, and the inaugural edition of the tournament will include 10 rounds held in the Middle East, Europe, Africa, Australia, South and North America, in coordination with the competent authorities in each country, with valuable cash prizes allocated for the fir
st 5 winners of each round.

The Scottsdale Championship, held in cooperation between EAHGC and ABWC, offers breeders from the USA, Canada, and Mexico an opportunity to compete and win worthy prizes, and its worth noting that Arabian Horse Shows in Scottsdale are quite prestigious and have been held since 1995.

These events helped in establishing the status of Arabian horses in the USA, as the Shows in Scottsdale are considered some of the best worldwide with the top studs competing in these events, and the state of Arizona hosts some important sporting events which attract thousands of fans and visitors annually from all over the world.

It is noteworthy that the first leg of the 2024 EAHGC was held last February in Australia through the 2024 Australasian International Arabian Championship, taking place over two days at Willinga Park in the Baulkham Hills area, while the second leg of the tournament was held in Manama, Bahrain from March 14-16.

UAE ranks among main pillars of global humanitarian work: TRENDS

ABU DHABI: TRENDS Research and Advisory highlighted the United Arab Emirates’ pivotal role in global humanitarian and charitable endeavours, citing its multifaceted initiatives to tackle emerging humanitarian challenges worldwide.

Speaking at an event organised by the Abu Dhabi Forum for Peace as part of its Ramadan lecture series, Dr. Mohammed Abdullah Al Ali, CEO of TRENDS Research and Advisory, delivered a lecture titled “The UAE and the March of Sustainable Goodness.” Attendees included individuals interested in charitable efforts and humanitarian work.

ERC launches Ramadan food parcel project in Burkina Faso

OUAGADOUGOU: The Emirates Red Crescent (ERC) has launched the Ramadan food parcel project in Burkina Faso for 2024, carried out in collaboration with a local humanitarian organisation and supported by donors from the UAE.

To date, 1,250 individuals have benefited from the initiative.

The project coincides with the Holy Month of Ramadan and aims to alleviate the hardships faced by vulnerable families in Burkina Faso. It also reflects the UAE’s commitment to spreading goodwill and generosity globally under its wise leadership.

Amman: The Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army (JAF), under Royal directives, dispatched a medical evacuation plane belonging to the Royal Air Force to aid a Jordanian citizen involved in a road accident in Saudi Arabia.

A Jordanian national employed in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia was evacuated by a military aircraft carrying a specialized medical team, according to the Royal Air Force Medical Services Commander. The individual’s overall health was deemed critical.

ABU DHABI: President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan today welcomed His Highness Sheikh Saud bin Rashid Al Mu’alla, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Umm Al Qaiwain.

They exchanged greetings on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan and prayed to God Almighty, asking for His blessings to bring goodness and prosperity.

They also prayed for the continued security and prosperity of the UAE and its people. During the meeting at Qasr Al Bateen in Abu Dhabi, they engaged in brotherly and friendly discussions and greeted guests, including sheikhs and citizens.Those in attendance performed the Maghrib prayer and joined the Iftar banquet hosted by His Highness the President.

Sharjah Islamic Affairs organises more than 11,000 lectures during first week of Ramadan

SHARJAH: Sharjah Islamic Affairs announced it organised of 11,110 lessons and lectures during the first week of Ramadan across the emirate’s mosques. Additionally, 32 lectures were conducted within governmental institutions, departments, and bodies, alongside 14 virtual sessions via various social media platforms.

The Fatwa Centre under the department received over 900 inquiries and fatwas from the public via the toll-free number 8001441. A particular highlight of the department’s Ramadan initiative was the hosting of a dedicated Ramadan night for women.

Abdullah Khalifa Yaroof Al Sebusi, Chairman of Sharjah Islamic Affairs Department, emphasised the inclusivity of the Ramadan programme, encompassing all cities within the emirate. This initiative underscores the pivotal role of Ramadan in the Muslim community.

The lessons and lectures focused on explaining the core principles of Ramadan and key aspects of fasting jurisprudence. The department also introduced lessons interpreting the Holy Quran, explaining
the meanings of its vocabulary, and clarifying its rulings, orders and directives. The Department organised awareness lectures to urge the public to contribute to charitable work and explain the virtue of charity.

The department designated certain mosques to cater to non-Arab communities, facilitating lessons conducted in English, Urdu, and Malaybari during the Holy Month of Ramadan.
