UAE leaders congratulate Bassirou Diomaye Faye on his election as President of Senegal


ABU DHABI: President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan has sent a message of congratulations to Bassirou Diomaye Faye on winning the presidential elections in the Republic of Senegal.

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of

the Presidential Court, sent similar messages to President Faye.

The maintenance of residential buildings at Sirt University.


Tripoli: Media sources at the University of Sirt reported that the National Development Agency has begun the maintenance of the housing buildings for faculty members at the University.

The director of the university information office, told LANA correspondent in Sirt that the step comes within a series of projects that the agency is implementing in Sirt, including the maintenance of lighting, the airport, the port, landings, and the sea corniche road.

130 illegal immigrants rescued north of the Qara-Bolli area.


Tripoli: Yesterday, Thursday, rescue teams from the General Administration of Coastal Security were able to rescue 130 illegal immigrants north of the Qara-Bolli area who were on board a boat. This happened after receiving a distress call through the main communications room.

The Ministry of Interior stated that the boat ‘Wadi Kaam’ set off to the place of the migrants, and all of them were rescued, and legal measures were taken to refer them to the anti-illegal immigration agency.

LCB calls on commercial banks to activate all services related to purchasing foreign exchange.


Tripoli: In a letter addressed to directors of commercial banks, the Central Bank of Libya called for activating all services and products related to purchasing foreign exchange for the purposes of study and treatment abroad, and issuing visa-mastercard to companies, small merchants, and artisans.

In its letter, the bank referred to Circular No. (10/2023) regarding allowing operating banks to issue and charge (VS-MasterCard) cards for the purpose of financing the import of supplies, equipment, and services for industrial and service purposes for companies, small merchants, and craftsmen.

Executive meeting about launching the Wafid platform.


Tripoli: The Minister of Labor and Rehabilitation, Ali Al-Abed Al-Rida, the Minister of State for the Affairs of the Prime Minister and the Council of Ministers, Adel Jumaa, the head of the Passports Authority, and representatives of the Intelligence Service and the Telecommunications Holding Company discussed yesterday, Thursday, the mechanisms for issuing electronic work visas for foreign workers.

The Ministry of Labor and Rehabilitation stated that the meeting discussed mechanisms for linking the relevant authorities with regard to the work visa and coordinating between them through the ‘Wafid’ digital platform, which is expected to be launched on the first of next May after completing all procedural and legal steps. The Ministry has also reviewed the executive steps in a comprehensive technical presentation.

Specialized courses in the General Administration of Security Operations.


Tripoli: Three specialized courses were concluded at the Specialized Training Institute of the General Administration of Security Operations under the supervision of international experts.

The Ministry of Interior stated on Friday that the first course was in the field of aerial photography, the second was about reading maps and determining coordinates and locations, and the third was about tactics for arresting criminals
