Abdullah bin Zayed values World Central Kitchen’s humanitarian efforts in northern Gaza


ABU DHABI: H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs, praised the humanitarian efforts of the World Central Kitchen (WCK) and its pivotal role in delivering aid to northern Gaza and meeting the needs of civilians in the Strip, during a phone call with José Andrés, the organization’s founder.

H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed strongly condemned and denounced the Israeli targeting of a car carrying a team from the World Central Kitchen, expressing his deepest condolences and sincere sympathy to the president of the organisation, the families of the victims, and their countries.

H.H. stressed the importance of protecting the lives of all civilians and that they should not be targets of the ongoing escalation in the region, affirming the UAE’s full solidarity with the World Central Kitchen and its team.

During the phone call, Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed expressed his sincere appreciation for the efforts of the organisation and its team, stressing that the UAE is proud of its strong partn
ership with the organisation to provide the necessary humanitarian response to civilians in northern Gaza.

H.H. added that the UAE has a firm commitment to working with the World Central Kitchen and supporting its humanitarian efforts. He also noted that the UAE is keen to cooperate with all partners in the international community to provide relief to civilians in the Gaza Strip who are suffering from tragic humanitarian conditions, stressing that the important role played by all humanitarian organisations, including the World Central Kitchen, which ”should receive all forms of support and assistance.”

Dubai Police contributes AED 1 million to Mothers’ Endowment campaign


DUBAI: The Dubai Police announced its contribution of AED 1 million to the Mothers’ Endowment campaign, launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to establish a AED 1 billion endowment fund to support the education of millions around the world.

Launched under the umbrella of Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives (MBRGI) and coinciding with the holy month of Ramadan, the campaign honors mothers by allowing contributors to make donations in their names. It also aims to support underprivileged individuals and communities in a sustainable way through education.

Lieutenant-General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police, said the campaign, launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, solidifies the UAE’s leading humanitarian role globally, affirms its reputation as an inspiring role model promoting the values of honoring parents, kindness, compassion and solidarity by launch
ing sustainable projects and campaigns that support people around the world through education and empowerment.

‘It is an honor to be part of this campaign and to support its objectives of sustainably supporting underprivileged individuals around the world, by providing the education and skills necessary for a better future,’ he said.

‘The Dubai Police confirms its support of the Mothers’ Endowment campaign, which honors mothers while building upon the meaningful success of previous Ramadan campaigns launched by MBRGI. This stems from our belief that social responsibility is a national and humanitarian duty, and that supporting such efforts highlights and cements the UAE community’s noble values,’ he added.

The Mothers’ Endowment campaign has exceeded its target in under 3 weeks, raising a total of AED 1.484 billion before the end of Ramadan.

The Mothers’ Endowment campaign continues to welcome donations and contributions to the endowment fund from institutions and individuals across six main channels incl
uding the campaign’s website (Mothersfund.ae), as well as a dedicated call center via the toll-free number (800 9999). Donations are also possible via bank transfers in the UAE dirham to the campaign bank account number with Emirates Islamic Bank (AE790340003708472909201). Donations via SMS are possible by sending the word ‘Mother’ to the following numbers (1034, 1035, 1036, 1038) for Etisalat by e and users. Other possible platforms for donating to the campaign are the DubaiNow app by clicking the ‘Donations’ tab, and Dubai’s community contributions platform Jood (Jood.ae).

Mohammed Bin Rashid Housing Establishment and Dubai Islamic Bank sign MoU to support community initiatives with AED10 million


DUBAI: The Mohammed Bin Rashid Housing Establishment (MBRHE) and Dubai Islamic Bank (DIB) today signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at supporting community initiatives with a total value of AED10 million.

The signing of the MoU underscores the commitment to community partnership and corporate social responsibility among entities in Dubai. Driven by the ethos of generosity during the Holy Month of Ramadan, the initiative aligns with the objectives outlined in the Dubai Social Agenda 33, to make Dubai one of the world’s leading cities in terms of quality of life and to create a more active and proactive social system that provides protection and empowerment.

In line with the goals of the Dubai Social Agenda 33, the partnership builds upon the ongoing efforts of both parties in supporting the development of the community in Dubai and strengthening their contributions across various charitable and developmental fields.

Commenting on this partnership, Haitham Al Khaja, the Director of Communication
and Marketing at the Mohammed Bin Rashid Housing Establishment, said: ‘We are proud to collaborate with Dubai Islamic Bank, a leader in providing Islamic financial services, to support our community initiatives targeting various segments of the local community in Dubai. This partnership reflects our mutual commitment to contribute to building a cohesive and sustainable community that is characterised by goodness and prosperity.’

Nawaf Al Raisi, the Director of Community Support Services at Dubai Islamic Bank, expressed Dubai Islamic Bank’s happiness in signing an agreement with the Mohammed Bin Rashid Housing Establishment, emphasising the Bank’s active role in supporting initiatives aimed at achieving sustainable development and social responsibility.

He added that the agreement signed is part of the DIB’s efforts to enhance its role as a leading financial institution dedicated to supporting the community and fostering the well-being of society members.

The agreement will provide support for a variety of
initiatives., including educational and training programmes, housing projects, and community outreach efforts, with a focus on reaching the most deserving groups in society. This step reflects the shared commitment of both MBRHE and DIB to their social responsibility and their determination to have a meaningful impact on the lives of individuals and the community.

‘Birds of Goodness’ executes 26th humanitarian aid airdrop in north Gaza


GAZA: The Joint Operations Command of the Ministry of Defence announced the implementation of the 26th airdrop of humanitarian and relief aid as part of the “Birds of Goodness” operation.

Two C17 aircraft belonging to the UAE Air Force and two C295 aircraft belonging to the Egyptian Air Force participated in the airdrop operation.

The airdrop was carried out over inaccessible isolated areas in the northern Gaza Strip via four aircraft carrying 82 tonnes of food and relief aid, bringing the total amount of aid airdrops to 1483 tonnes since the beginning of the operation.

The Birds of Goodness operation is part of “Operation Chivalrous Knight 3” to support Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip.
