His Majesty King Abdullah II on Tuesday received, USAID Administrator Samantha Power at Al Husseiniya Palace.

The meeting, attended by His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II, covered Jordan’s intensive efforts to increase humanitarian aid to Gaza and ensure its sustainable and uninterrupted flow to mitigate the situation in the Strip, with His Majesty stressing the need for the international community to take immediate action on this.

The King also noted the importance of international support for Jordan’s humanitarian role and the need to step up efforts to ensure the flow of aid to Gaza via land, with Jordan operating as a launching point.

His Majesty called for opening land crossings and expanding airdrop operations to support Gazans, especially in the north.

The meeting also addressed the humanitarian role of UNRWA, as the King warned of the negative impact of suspending support for the agency in Gaza, the West Bank, and Jordan.

ted States, and ways to expand cooperation across all sectors were also discussed.

Discussions covered USAID-supported projects in Jordan, especially in the water sector and the Aqaba-Amman Water Desalination and Conveyance Project, with His Majesty expressing appreciation for the United States’ development support in Jordan.

For her part, Administrator Power expressed her appreciation for Jordan’s humanitarian efforts to alleviate the situation in Gaza.

She stressed the importance of enhancing cooperation between Jordan and the United States by building on their strategic partnership.

Director of the Office of His Majesty Jafar Hassan and Planning Minister Zeina Toukan attended the meeting.

Amman Stock Exchange Sees Slight Decline in Trading

The Amman Stock Exchange closed trading on Tuesday with a 0.04% decline, settling at 2,464 points.

The volume of shares traded reached 2.9 million shares, valued at approximately JD3.8 million, through 2,447 transactions.

Among publicly traded companies, 30 recorded share price increases, while 36 experienced decreases, with 26 maintaining stable prices.

ABU DHABI: Their Highnesses Supreme Council Members and Rulers of the Emirates have sent separate condolence messages to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud of Saudi Arabia on the death of Prince Fahd bin Abdul Mohsen bin Abdullah bin Jalawi Al Saud.

The messages were sent by Their Highnesses the Rulers, Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi of Sharjah, Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi of Ajman, Sheikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi of Fujairah, Sheikh Saud bin Rashid Al Mu’alla of Umm Al Qaiwain, and Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi of Ras Al Khaimah.

Their Crown Princes and deputy rulers also sent similar cables to the Saudi King.
