Abu Dhabi Desert Challenge features new route powered by ADNOC Distribution

ABU DHABI: The stage is set for an Abu Dhabi Desert Challenge (ADDC) unlike any other, with competitors from around the world poised to take on a new challenging route for the rally’s 33rd edition. The 33rd edition will go through a new route from February 26 to March 2.

Now in its third year as part of the FIA and FIM World Rally-Raid Championship (W2RC), Abu Dhabi’s thrilling desert rally-raid continues to evolve, as the Emirates Motorsports Organisation (EMSO) works to fine-tune the event, introducing even more demanding sections with the support of Energy Partner, ADNOC

Distribution.

Bader Saeed Al Lamki, CEO of ADNOC Distribution, commented: ‘As the leading mobility retailer in the UAE, we are pleased to extend our long-standing partnership with the Emirates Motorsports Organisation (EMSO), becoming the official Energy Partner of the Abu Dhabi Desert Challenge in 2024. By delivering the

highest-grade energy for powerful engines, we’re offering optimum performance allowing the race contenders to com
pete at the highest level on this exhilarating route.’

The Abu Dhabi Desert Challenge marks the second round of the W2RC Rally-Raid Championship and is yet another milestone in the long-term collaboration between the EMSO and ADNOC Distribution. The energy partner will be providing refuelling stations along the length of the 2250-kilometre course, including in the

most remote areas of the globally famous Empty Quarter, known locally as the Rub Al Khali.

Evolving the route to bring the event to both Al Dhannah and Mezair’Ah in the Liwa Region marks exciting progress for the Challenge, as the Government of Abu Dhabi, ADNOC Distribution and the EMSO look to push further development in these areas and bring the racing action closer to the fans, who turned out in their thousands during last year’s Prologue in Al Dhannah City.
