‘Bil Arabi’ initiative forms strategic collaborations

DUBAI: The ‘Bil Arabi’ initiative, launched by the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Knowledge Foundation (MBRF) in 2013, has continued its successful journey towards promoting the Arabic language and encouraging its usage among the youth. With a steadfast commitment to nurturing the linguistic heritage of the Arab world, the initiative strives to inspire Arab youth to embrace their mother tongue, particularly in the digital realm, fostering a robust presence of Arabic content across online platforms and social media channels.

The initiative has formed strategic alliances with entities such as the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), Al Ain News, Nabd, Entrepreneur Alarabiya, TeN TV, and Alghad TV. It has also partnered with Abu Dhabi National Insurance Company (ADNIC) and New Digital Solutions (NDS), among others, as an integral part of the MBRF’s efforts that are aimed at elevating the position of the Arabic language across diverse sectors.

She added, ‘The initiative goes beyond being a mere cooperative partnership, it also represents a strategically effective approach to preserving Arab identity and heritage while fostering stronger ties between Arab nation and global civilization. By prioritizing the use of Arabic language in international relations and engagements with global organizations, this initiative not only upholds Arab identity but also elevates its global standing.’

nerships play a pivotal role in attaining a wider reach and significant impact, further contributing to the development of the cognitive role of the Arabic language within a diverse range of both Arab and international communities. This effort aims to position the Arabic language as a global medium capable of staying up-to-date with modern science and new developments. The initiative remains committed to advancing the position of the Arabic language across various sectors, particularly in its digital presence.’

From their side, the strategic partners participating in this event expressed their pride in being sponsors and influencers in this unique initiative in the Arab world, which confirms their commitment to preserving the mother tongue and protecting it for future generations and looking forward to a bright future in which the Arabic language occupies a prestigious global position.

Launching the Bil Arabi initiative took place on the occasion of the annual World Arabic Language Day on 18th of December,
which was set by the United Nations General Assembly. The initiative aims to change existing stereotypes about the Arabic language, emphasizing its universal significance. It actively promotes the utilization of Arabic on online platforms, especially on social media, encouraging Arabs to communicate in their mother tongue.

The initiative, along with its partners, will translate prominent books, articles, periodicals, and scientific research in vital fields into Arabic. Additionally, a comprehensive program of activities and debates will be initiated to celebrate the Arabic language.

Dubai Culture enhances community engagement through 04 Platform

DUBAI: Dubai Culture and Arts Authority (Dubai Culture) has announced receiving over 300 requests through the 04 Platform, unified interactive platform launched by H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Executive Council of Dubai, to enhance stakeholder participation in improving the services provided by Dubai government entities, understand their opinions, provide solutions to their challenges, and adopt their various ideas and proposals.

The Authority’s staff members are studying and analysing the list of suggestions and feedback received through the platform from March 2023 to January 2024 to understand the audience’s requirements and adopt ideas that contribute to the development of the working system. This stems from the Authority’s keenness to create a sustainable creative ecosystem that enhances the satisfaction levels of community members, creatives, artists, and talent, and increasing the happiness rate of users and visitors to its assets and
facilities.

The Authority invites the public to continue using the 04 platform and benefit from it by providing various suggestions and feedback. These inputs help enhance and support the efforts of Dubai Culture to elevate the quality of cultural and social life for users across Dubai. This ongoing engagement aligns with its sectoral priorities and falls within the framework of its social responsibility.

Al Ain Municipality enters Guinness World Records with largest bouquet of natural flowers

AL AIN: The Al Ain Municipality achieved a new Guinness World Record for the world’s largest bouquet of natural flowers showcased at the Al Ain Flower Festival, which runs until 14th March, 2024.

The municipality created a huge flower arrangement that covered 49 metres and had more than 7,000 blooms of different kinds, standing seven metres tall. This feat showed the city’s dedication to beautifying the natural environment and making the city a leading place for tourism and culture.

The Al Ain Flower Festival includes 40 units of illuminated flower sculptures that create a magical and unique atmosphere. It also features 11 innovative artworks distributed throughout the park, enriching the visitors’ experience with art and beauty.

The festival allows small and medium-sized businesses to showcase their products through 30 stalls and food carts. It also features a 170-metre shaded area dedicated to families who can relax and enjoy a fun-filled and comfortable family atmosphere.

Opening tender to supply petroleum to Yemeni Oil Company

The tender committee of the Yemeni Oil Company opened tender envelopes for the supply of petroleum tankers.

At its meeting, the Tenders Committee referred the envelopes to the Technical and Financial Analysis Committee to study and evaluate the submitted offers under the specified conditions and standards.
