UAE continues to deliver humanitarian aid to people of Gaza Strip


ABU DHABI: The UAE continues its unwavering support for the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip through the “Gallant Knight 3” humanitarian operation, launched under the directives of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

From 11th to 18th February, the Emirates Red Crescent (ERC) extended aid to three key governorates in the Gaza Strip, namely “Rafah Governorate,” “Central Governorate,” and “Khan Yunis Governorate.”

The assistance included food and medical supplies, winter clothes, lighting units in displacement centres. Furthermore, the ERC initiated a bakery project aimed at alleviating the severe shortage of bread within the Gaza Strip.

Launched in November 2023, “Gallant Knight 3” reflects the UAE’s ongoing commitment to providing crucial humanitarian aid to the Palestinian people in Gaza. This operation embodies the UAE’s unwavering solidarity and support for the Palestinian people, demonstrating its dedication to alleviating their suffering and improving their living conditions

UAE President offers condolences over passing of Abdullah Almuqbali


HATTA: President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan today extended his condolences over the passing of Abdullah Mohamed Almuqbali during a visit to the condolence majlis in Hatta.

His Highness expressed his sincere condolences and sympathy to the family of the deceased, offering prayers for God Almighty to bestow His boundless mercy upon the departed and grant his family patience and solace.

Accompanying His Highness were His Excellency Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Tahnoon Al Nahyan, Advisor for Special Affairs at the Presidential Court, and His Excellency Ali bin Hammad Al Shamsi, Secretary-General of the Supreme Council for National Security.

Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank launches new payment hub


ABU DHABI: Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank (ADIB) has announced the successful launch of a new payment hub that allows customers to conduct their transfers in a quick and efficient manner.

ADIB has worked with the real-time payment solutions company, ProgressSoft, to ease the integration of Cross-Border Services and accelerate cross-border remittances.

With the new payment hub, customers can now seamlessly process transfers, providing a solution that transforms payment processing capabilities. This redefines the speed, security, and efficiency of ADIB’s payment services across diverse channels and third-party networks.

39% increase in NOC applications for infrastructure, information services by DEWA


DUBAI: Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD and CEO of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), revealed that the number of approved applications for No Objection Certificates (NOCs) for infrastructure and information services increased by over 39% in 2023 compared to 2022.

Through the award-winning Marafeq Smart Feature, DEWA approved 26,159 NOCs since the launch of the feature until the end of last year (8,047 of them in 2023 and 5,807 in 2022).

This increase reflects the rise in the number of infrastructure projects in Dubai and the increasing demand for electricity and water services according to the highest international standards in reliability, quality, and efficiency.

Al Tayer emphasised DEWA’s readiness to keep pace with Dubai’s economic prosperity and the increasing population. DEWA continues to support the Dubai Economic Agenda (D33), which aims to double the size of Dubai’s economy over the next decade and to consolidate its position among the top three global cities.

‘The increasing demand for
our innovative services supports our effective and constructive contribution to provide an advanced and integrated infrastructure for electricity and water in accordance with the highest international standards. We aim to manage facilities and services through smart and interconnected systems using the technologies of the Fourth Industrial Revolution,’ added Al Tayer.

DEWA’s Marafeq Smart Feature contributes to accelerating issuing of NOCs for infrastructure and information services. It also enhances collaboration between DEWA and other utilities in Dubai. It has reduced steps to get the NOCs approvals from 7 to 3 steps, and the time from 60 to 20 minutes.The feature provides enrolled contractors and consultants with access to Live data about DEWA’s infrastructure networks valid for 6 months.

The advanced feature uses GIS (Geographic Information Systems) to provide a smart link instead of the conventional offline DGN or CAD files. The advanced feature uses GIS (Geographic Information Systems). This ensures
data protection and prevents data loss. The feature provides maps and data of DEWA’s Network, and accurate information to stakeholders about infrastructure projects in Dubai.
